When two lines are crossed with a line called transversal than the pair of angles formed on the inner but on the opposite side of the transversal are called alternate interior angles.
If two lines being crossed are parallel lines than the Alternate interior angles are parallel.
In the above figure 2,8 and 3,5 are the alternate interior angles.
