What is Analog Data?

The data which is represented physically and is continuous is known as analog data. It can also be defined as any data that represents analog signal.

Today’s time is called an era of digital age, but still a lot of analog devices are used. For example, a thermometer which measures the temperature using mercury level or needle is said to be analog while thermometer which displays temperature on screen is considered digital.

What is Digital Data?

The data which represents different forms of data using machine language is known as digital data, it is discontinuous depiction of the information. The word digital comes from Latin word digitus which means finger.

The most basic system is binary system which is most suited to digital signals. Binary system only uses two digits that is “1” and “0” which represents “on” and “off” respectively.
