Decimals

A decimal is a number which contain a decimal point, the decimal point gives the separation between ones and tenths numbers.

Example 1: Here the number 28.1 is written as decimal. The decimal point goes between ones and tenths. Here,

2 is the Tens.

8 is the Ones.

1 is Tenths.

Example 2: Here is the decimal number 356.3, as we move towards left of the decimal point each value is ten times bigger.

Also when we move towards left each value is 10times smaller. Here,

3 is the Hundredth.

5 is the Tens.

6 is the Ones.

3 is the Tenths.
