Octahedron

An octahedron is a geometrical shape which has 8 faces, twelve edges and six vertices. Examples include boat, heptagonal pyramid, hexagonal prism etc. The 8 faces of the octahedron is triangular in shape.

Area of Octahedron

If (r) is the distance from the center to one vertex.

A = 2 x a² x √3

Where, (a) is the length of the edge.

Volume of Octahedron

V = [(√2)/3] x a³
