What is Cross Section?

When we cut a solid body, the non-empty intersection of the object we get is called the cross section. The cut is made at an angle perpendicular to the axis to get the view of the interior structure of the object.

Example: If you cut a cylinder perpendicular to its axis then the cross section formed will be a circle.
